My mini journal is getting pretty puffy. Pretty soon it won’t be able to close at all.

All those pretty colors!

All those pretty colors!

Monday was very busy for me. I needed to reorganize my art area so I cleaned off my desk and started over. I have more storage now and things are closer at hand. I didn’t get nearly as much as I wanted done on paper yesterday but I did manage to get this journal entry done. Later in the evening I painted some girls and drew a picture of a princess to color pencil in at leisure. Today I plan to paint as much as I can an am waiting on my journal to dry so I can finish it. It’s almost May Day! Who are you going to surprise with flowers?

Smile and the world smiles with you. Just a fun Sunday evening journal entry after a very fun weekend of art and shopping. Saturday’s entry below was a lot of fun to put together. I plan to make a much bigger and better version to make into prints of “Sew in Love.”

Saturday we went shopping for some much needed items. We had started a list at the beginning of the week as to not forget anything. Well, we forgot one of the main items on our list, so happily we are starting another list and that just means “MORE SHOPPING!” Yay! Here are some of the goodies we got on our outing.

Fun little cutting boards for multitasking in the Kitchen, and now that I look at it, it looks like a lovely template to trace. I got 2 of these little gems.

Square plates! I feel hip now! I love the cobalt color.
Yummy texture and color! We got a few placemats with punch! I used them in the living room to give your living space some beautiful color.

And lastly, not a new purchase, but a new mini project, I had gotten these frames from my brother for Christmas. He made them and I absolutely love them and needed to find something to put in them. Our living room has been lacking color so as I was digging through my pretty papers I came across this one I cut and framed and hung to add some much needed warmth. I’m very happy with the results. – Pictures for Pennies! -

Inspired by Arbor Day this entry can be viewed at any angle. Just a quick fun leafy green to honor our trees today. Flowers will be added later, but since it’s getting late and it’s the weekend I thought I’d post what I have so far. Speaking of trees, here’s a shot of a tree growing below our deck that is absolutely stunning and overloaded with blossoms. Of course the picture doesn’t do it justice but it does say that spring is in the air.

We have daily and nightly visitors to our back deck. Here’s one of the three raccoons that frequent our home. He’s just “hanging out.”

Seeds of Love journal entry for April 24. Inspired by the zebra tape I used on the edge of yesterdays Dance journal entry posted below. I never see the end from the beginning. Most all of my entries are birthed on their own. Ideas come to my head as the art is in process and I use my creative spirit to give them a life of their own. I love the this one as well as the one below. Very fun and funky. I already started making a print of yesterday’s and today’s will be incoming as well.

DANCE!The glitter was a fun idea on this page, messy but well worth it. =)

Taken from previous journal entries, I made some bookmarks for the ladies my hubby works with. One one was pleased she sent home a box of Swedish Chocolate Mint cookies for me. Great with tea!
I’m off now to clean up my art mess and work on some boxes I’m covering. I’ll post them when their done.

This entry was inspired by the snow we had over the weekend. It’s layers upon layers of color and texture stenciled with white hearts and a few opalescent snowflakes thrown in for pop.
Heres our view of the April snow from our deck.

The snow’s gone now but it was very pretty while it lasted. Time for Spring to bounce forward!

Every journey begins with one step. Sometimes that first step is the hardest step of the entire journey. Life is a journey within many journeys. May your steps be light and easy.

On your journeys may you soar high and bright.
What I had planned for this background didn’t pan out the way I had hoped it would so it became a separate project. When it strikes me for what I need for this entry I’ll finish it. In the meantime I really love the way the colors blended together.

Layered patterned paper accented with watercolor pencils making up the rainbow was the start of this journal. The girl giving up her worries just seemed fitting here. The bright colors inspired the ladybug and the ladybug dress she’s wearing. The wings are cut from patterned vellum and tinged with a light blue watercolor pencil. This page was a lot of fun to create. I now have an easel that my journal fits on perfectly so I can display my mini journal page of the day as I work on other projects. It also makes picture taking much easier. It’s amazing what you can put on an index card. =)

I journaled in colors I love this time. I adore pink! I am a point in my life where I am ending something and beginning another that’s what inspired the theme for this page. And as for the bouquet I had to toss out yesterday. Today I have it’s replacement to post. Enjoy SPRING!

The baskets a birthday gift I picked out myself from Pier I Imports. It has endless possibilities. The holly flowers look pretty and bright in my art area.
