Make it Mondays & More

This weeks theme for Make it Mondays is “Brown.” We have a squirrel that frequents our back door for his daily bread so this gave me the perfect oppotunity to draw what he’s going to look like if he doesn’t work his carbs off!

Also here’s a practice face I was working on for Les Petite Dolls. The eyes are too far apart and some of the erased pencil lines around her jaw started to show through during shading so I gave her a greyish hair color and came up with the perfect quote for the mood I was in. It was very late but the house was quite and I wanted to practice. The lights were a bit dim and I was a bit tired and was pushing sleep off. I’m going to practice more today and play a bit with some woodburning for class as well. Somewhere in there I have an hour workout and homemade bread to make as well. I best get too it! Happy Tuesday!

Work in Progress

This is my first watercolor mixed media for the Les Petite Dolls class by Suzy Blu. I’m going to finish this off by putting eyelets on the holes I’ve punched and poked along the left side, then I’m stringing hemp and adding beads to give it some depth. I may add a word or two, I’m not sure yet. The heart on the dress is stamped on vellum with white acrylic paint and white fun flock added to make it a bit fuzzy. I have a bit more blending to do on the face, then I’ll move on to my first woodburning piece which will be a little halloween witch. Let me know what you think so far.
