Autumn Rose

I finished my watercolor/mixed media painting for Les Petite Dolls and have moved on to the the wood burning piece.I’m doing a small one for starters to get the feel of how to shade on wood. The wood burning was rather scary as I was using my mom’s pyro tool and it gets extremely hotter than a traditional wood burner. Once I get a feel for it I think I’ll like using it. The tool actually glows red hot by the tip and if your fingers are too close, well – Yikes! Here’s the results of today’s playground experiments. I’m working on a few more small watercolors that will likely end up in my art journal. I’ll have those up tomorrow. I’m also waiting on a Dick Blick order w/some of the supplies I’m going to be needing so I can’t go any further on my wood peice till then. I’m sure I’ll be able to find something to keep my fingers inky till then! /Wink!
And my first crack at wood burning …
