Trick or Treat!

This is my most recent project. I’m just about ready to beeswax this little painting – just a few finishing touches on her eyes first -after I do that I’ll be putting eyescrews in the sides at the top to string glorious ribbons and yarns through to create a hanger. I was lucky enough to get a bag full of fun furs that the dollar store recently and look for any excuse to use them. I would love handwarmers made out of them but have forgotten how to knit. I think I’ll buy a pair of knitting needles next time I’m at the craft store and have my mom give me refresher course. It’s winter and an artsist needs to keep her fingers free, but her hands warm while she’s painting – right! -) Or I could check out Etsy. I bought a pair there recently and they should show up in my mailbox this week. I’ll share when they do. I worked a bit today on a 5×7 watercolor picture but wasnt’ feeling to well and think it shows in her eyes. I was practing shading and using glaze with Twinkling H20s paint. I made her dress from Vellum with a butterfly stamped on it with gold paint. The picture is very simplistic and the colors are muted. I guess it shows my lack of sleep. =P

I might add some apricot colored droplets to this when I’m feeling better. Maybe she needs a furry or feathered friend w/her as well. What do you think? The butterfly on the dress didn’t scan too well, like due to the Vellum paper. I’m also been playing with this background page. I’ve been adding to it as my mood strikes me. This is where it’s at so far.

It’s far from done, it’s a wonderful stress reliever. The scanner didn’t pick up the golden glaze I gave the flowers. Nor does it show on the girls dress above. Adjustments in Photoshop didn’t help either. I have no idea what I’ll use this for later, but for now it’s as effective as THIS! Tomorrow I beeswax & wood burn again! Time to quit stalling and go make some dinner. =)
