Copper Penny

I call her Copper Penny as her wings and flower in her hair are copper. Also there is copper leafing trailing on her wings. This was pure joy to make. I love the entire process. She’s very mixed media from crayon to tissue paper to embellishments ~ including the 3D leaf on the bottom right. There are a few rhinestones tossed in for bling. What fairy doesn’t like bling!? Her dress is actually made from texured collage paper keeping the squirly theme on the background. There’s sparkle and smudges and drips and layers of lovely goodness! I am starting the guitar painting today and I know I’m going to have the best time with it. I’m not sure yet what I’ll do with Copper Penny. She’s the first painting on wood I’ve done that isn’t a Christmas gift. Maybe I’ll look into prints. Depends on what kind of feedback I get on her. I’m outta here now to crank up the music while I paint guitars! =)  Merry Creating!
