On the Easel ~

Here’s my current project. It’s another Christmas present. This time for a male! The guitar on the left is modeling paste with tissue paper mod-podged onto it. I haven’t decided  yet if I’m going to keep it bright or mute it with a wash. The guitar on the right is the cardboard cut out from make the stencil. I covered it with vintage sheet music and did a background wash in several colors of blue muting the tones as I went. This piece is called “Here Comes The Sun” after the Beatles hit. The recipient of this is a fan ~ and I plan to add the title near the top. I’ll be adding confetti music notes and more bright tissue paper to see if I like it with bright colors. If it turns out too bright I’ll mute it down a little at a time. Rather a challenging piece as it’s quite different from what I normally do. Maybe I’ll toss in a guitar pick in as well, I will toy with it as I start another piece. When I get stuck I usually move on to another painting until the one that has me stuck speaks to me.
