Little Children

My nieces are finally crossed off my Christmas list. This is the final “Niece Piece” if you will. She’s made for my niece who has three small, wonderful children!. She has always loved children so naturally when I think of her I think of babies and toddlers and such. I emailed my brother to ask her favorite colors and they were purple and black. Knowing I was painting a guardian angel for her & her babies, I decided on black hair and a purple dress. The wings are made from the wrapper of Ferrero Rocher Chocolates. (No I didn’t break my diet for them, I have them stashed in my OMG those are very cool pile!) With a base of watercolor wash of purple ~ I stamped swirly patterns with purple ink then used tissue papers in teal and purple to add interest and layering. I used gold paint to stamp mini swirls and added touches of teal watercolor to make the tissue paper and paint cohesive. The gold flowers are rub-ons from my bling stash and the cross is a charm that I cut the hanger from. The text is digital and painted with watercolor and stamped as well. This close up shows all the detail except for the rhinestone I added to her right eyelid where the wood-burner got too hot. =P Careful of those things! ~~ They could poke an eye out! I’m now working on finishing my guitar painting and have added an antique wash to it to tone the brightness down a bit. I started an angel/cupid which I am going to give a Valentine theme to and I am playing with a chipboard coaster and vintage paperdoll clothing. I plan to try a collage with them. I still need to address my Christmas cards and buy postage! I wanted to make my cards this year but my plate started to overflow. Next year I’ll make my cards in July! (We’ll see about that!)
