A Touch of Russian

I couldn’t resist making this “Bollywood” over-embellished version of the Russian Matryoshka. I’m 1/4 Russian so it seems a bit natural for me to be drawn to the making of this project. I’m also drawn to the embellishment isles at craft stores and have an overflow so I decided to go crazy with them on this painting/collage. I might tweak a few things before I varnish this but for the most part I think she’s pretty sweet.
And as promised…. I didn’t get this ready for DH to take to work for scanning purposes today but when I do I’ll have it up on my Flickr stream. Until then here’s the completed version of “Flower Child.”
The paper is still curled a bit ~ Hence the shadow. I actually really adore her face. She looks so innocent. Oh and how looks can be deceiving! /wink. I was up till the wee hours of them morning drawing onto wood so I could get 3 new painting started today. After my OJ and some coffee I think I’ll be ready to dive in to that.
