I wanted to share an awesome find I ran across in a craft
magazine. It’s a ribbon club. You can join for as many months as you wish and
it’s only $9.00 per month. The ribbon is preselected for you with a monthly
theme in mind. You get a healthy amount of ribbon as well. I just received my
first batch shown above.It’s neatly
packaged, high quality and best of all it’s like getting a stocking stuffer
each month.Ribbon is something I frequently
overlook buying when I’m at JoAnns so this club is perfect! Check it out at www.reasonableribbon.com They also
have a blog at www.reasonableribbon.wordpress.com
I just had to share this treasure. I love ribbon and never seem to take the time to shop for it. When I get into JoAnns I could stay for hours this club will save me some time and will save my family part of their sanity.
Friday is Valentines Day!! What’s everyone making their sweety this year? I need ideas! S.O.S. =)
This will be my new avatar on my Ning, Flicker, and Etsy sites. My blog is also morphing into a new site as well. I’ll have the new blog up by Valentine’s day which is perfect considering the JPG that won the avatar contest. I’ve been blogging since March of 08 so I’ve been at this for almost a full year! I’ll have to do a celebration post come my anniversary. =) Time will only tell what’s to come. Until then.. It’s Saturday and another day to hit the grocery for me. Hmm… what to make for dinner… suggestions?
Here’s something I made for my mom. She’s got paint chips on her dresser and she’s choosing the shade of lavender she’s going to paint her bedroom. The size of this piece is similar to the door-hanger style paintings I made for my nieces for Christmas. This is on thinner wood though. I still need to varnish and put on the hangers but once I sign them I consider them post-able. =P I’m busy working on 2 larger pieces as well. No spoilers today on them however. =) Tomorrow my sis is coming over and we’re going to have a home photo shoot! I charged my batteries and am really looking forward to having some fun with her. Time for me to go recharge my battery now! See you here this weekend. =)
I couldn’t resist making this “Bollywood” over-embellished version of the Russian Matryoshka. I’m 1/4 Russian so it seems a bit natural for me to be drawn to the making of this project. I’m also drawn to the embellishment isles at craft stores and have an overflow so I decided to go crazy with them on this painting/collage. I might tweak a few things before I varnish this but for the most part I think she’s pretty sweet.
And as promised…. I didn’t get this ready for DH to take to work for scanning purposes today but when I do I’ll have it up on my Flickr stream. Until then here’s the completed version of “Flower Child.”
The paper is still curled a bit ~ Hence the shadow. I actually really adore her face. She looks so innocent. Oh and how looks can be deceiving! /wink. I was up till the wee hours of them morning drawing onto wood so I could get 3 new painting started today. After my OJ and some coffee I think I’ll be ready to dive in to that.
This was taken while this painting was still a work in progress after I got home from the visit with my parents. Since then I’ve finished it and at the moment it’s being flattened under 2 HUGE books. I’ll get a photo or a scan of this up tomorrow. It’s too big for our scanner at home so DH has offered to take to to work and scan it there. =) She was so very much fun to work on and I’m pleased with how she turned out. I can’t wait to share her here tomorrow. Until then! Happy Monday!
My niece tagged me on Facebook if you want to read 25 random things about me which I’ll have posted on Facebook later this week. Lisa tagged me too with a very fast and fun, (as well as funny in my case) project. Here’s the instructions from Lisa’s tagging. Go to my computer’s pictures file, then go to the 6th folder, then go to the 6th picture and upload it. So here goes. ~~~
Only me would this happen to! Now you’re all wondering about my sanity arent’ you!? Well.. get in line! LOL I’m passing this little tag project on to ~ Purplecats Barb Deezden Patti Lisa Candace
Vin Chaud was yummy … maybe a bit sweeter than what our palette’s are used to however. But clearly a holiday must have! Be sure to make this heart/spirit warming cocktail next year in the midst of winter. I’ve posted a vote around the Ning communities that I belong to but felt it really wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t post it here for my blog readers. I’m changing my avatar that I use on flickr and Ning and this and that and the other. So here goes, this is the list I’m voting from!
I’m replacing ~ this avatar ~~~~~
Please! take the time to vote on which girly you think is the cutest and would represent me the best. So far the lead is for number 3 which I have no problem with as she is a personal favorite of mine. It’ll only take minute for you to cast your ballot and let me know who this is the ubererst of the uber! I have also gotten my first request for a print. I’m excited and paniced at the same time! We just bought all new ink carts for the lasar printer and I need to grab some awesome glossy paper and do some experimentation. This might open doors =) And remember… I’m ALWAYS open to commission paintings. I love the challenge that other people can open for me. I get most of my ideas from spontanious situations which makes them the most fun!
