Queen of Cake
The power of chocolate! Any princess would be happy to be up a tree with a chocolate cake to enjoy. Raining leaves and flowers just proves anything can happen when a girl has her chocolate. =) There’s lots of different mediums used in this painting from rubber stampings to confetti. The icing on the cake is layered with texture paste and painting enticing pink with glittering watercolors and topped with dimensional glittering paint. Shimmers just don’t show well enough from photos but this painting is full of sparkle. Now I’m off to work on yet another painting that has lots more frosting in it. =) In the meantime, have some dessert!
Happy Springtime! Little Bunny Foo~Foo hopping through the forest. Easter may have pasted for the year but this bunny’s still busy hopping around the neighborhood greeting her winged friends and sneaking carrots from Mr. McGregor’s garden. =) I used fun flock for the fur and collage papers for the body, the tulip, and the birdhouse. With swirls of watercolors, acrylics, and gel pens this piece has spring sparkle. Today I’m working on several different paintings along with doing some light housework and going outside to enjoy the sun. Hoppy Tuesday! See you back here soon.

For a while it looked pretty hit and miss as to whether our weather was going to give us a break in the clouds. Finally after an extremely harsh winter the daffodils are happy again, and so is the sun! This was one of those I have no idea what I’m doing painting. I started by just rolling a round stamp over the wood and seeing what would happen. This is the final result. I have a plethora of Rollagraph rubber stamps from back in the day when I made stacks and stacks of cards. As any artist knows we are pack rats by nature. Never giving up any luscious tidbit of artsy creative juice, so I’ve held on to all my stamping supplies and now I just modify their uses. You can faintly see the sunshines in the background as I layered paints and other creative goodies over the top. The sun is shining in golden glory with brilliant golden metallic eyes. The flowers are bloomin off the vine and life is bursting forth! YAY for blue skies! =) Stay tuned for more upcoming brightness soon. Happy Almost Friday!

I dream of Jeannie! This is my take on Barbara Eden’s role as Jeannie. What a fun process this was! Lots of different mediums and embellishements with swirls and circles. Painting blonde hair is tricky so I added some lavender to give it some life. There’s gel pens, collage papers, stamping, tissue paper, and oodles of paint and other artful goodies. As always this was a blast. I’m working on a sunshine as well that will be finished tomorrow. I have several others on my desk that I’m working on between coats of drying paint and will be sharing them with you soon. May all your wishes come true for you! Happy Hump Day. =)
On the third day he rose again in fullfillment of the scriptures.
Happy Easter & God Bless!
Smiles are finally blooming after a long, hard, cold winter. The snows have melted, the winds have eased up, and the clouds aren’t nearly as heavy as they have been in the past weeks. The earth is finally bursting into color again. This small 5×6 painting depicts the wonders of spring and rebirth. I’m looking forward to planting some new flowers in my barrels on our deck. We bought an outdoor table and chairs to enjoy the warm weather evenings. All we need now is a citronella candle and we’re good to go! =) Tomorrow I’ll be working on my Jeannie painting! I’ll share more later. Happy Hump Day!
