Zing, Zang, Zoom

I was inspired by this painting from seeing the some of the cast from Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus on Fox Strategy Room. They were quite colorful, funny, warmhearted, and inspiring! Check out their website for B & B Circus fun! If you check out the clowns you’ll see this one. She was an actual character that was on the on line show. I did my best to match her colors and her wig. It’s a really color and bright painting with collage elements and glitter paint for circus sparkle! As always I learn as I go and this was a fun process that actually took me quite longer than I thought it would, but then who wouldn’t want to stay as long as they could at the circus!?

Beelieve in Spring

Spring has been dragging it’s feet in making an appearance in the Pacific Northwest so I decided to coax it along and paint this spring painting. It actually worked! It’s been sunny for two days now. =) The little bees are rubberstamped on and then woodburned to give them dimension. The wings of Momma Bee are outlined with a dimensional glitter paint. There’s a touch of bubble wrap texture in white to add a beehive theme as well. This was a fun and fast piece as I was really into it and I think bees are very cute. There’s a lot of sparkle to this painting that doesn’t show up in the photo. It’s quite a happy little piece. =) Happy Spring to all of you and Happy Weekend too!

Daffodils in the Lake

Ξ April 3rd, 2009 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Around The House, The Great Outdoors!, The Healing Garden |

Finally the weather was dry enough for a walk around the lake. What a refreshing change from our very cold, wet, snowy, and windy winter! It was so good to see the ducks and other flying friends out foraging for food. I captured this photo while walking of some daffodils that someone kindly planted into some pilings just off a foot bridge and wanted to share the color of spring with you! It’s a rare sight here in the Pacific Northwest so far this spring. But now I have proof that spring is indeed promised to make it’s late arrival! Enjoy and Happy, Happy Weekend! Keep Kreating! =)

… For Joy

Ξ April 2nd, 2009 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Art-tastic |

Jump for Joy! Spring has spring, the grass has riz, I wonder where my jacket is. This is my second completed painting for my Willowing’s World of Whimsey class and I’m having a great time! I also signed up for Art Trader Magazine’s Whimsey class and am going to have so much fun learning their teachings and techniques. I’m keeping very, very busy with my art and feeling more and more confident. =) I look forward to sharing more with you as soon as I’ve got another one done. I did some woodburning late last night and now have 4 paintings I’m working on. I love having a plethera so when paint is drying on one, I can move on to the next. It keeps me very productive! My dental appt came and went and I lived to tell about it, I have a cleaning on Monday so we’ll see how I live through that. =P Until later, I’m off to watch a movie. Keep Kreating!

Rubber Ducky!

Ξ April 1st, 2009 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Art-tastic, Les Petite Dolls |

*SOLD*

Small 5×6 birch wood canvas. I named this Rubber Ducky for her little “bathtub” toy. This was fun and has lots of glitter and shimmer. Lots of different mediums went into this, as well as some carefully placed golden flower rubons. =) I’m still “tweaking” ideas for my watermark so I’m using this one for now. Today I started an “I Dream of Jeannie” piece which I’m already having a lot of fun with. With spring trying really hard to make an appearance I’ll be painting something small with a  spring-like theme to help coax it along. It’s been wet, windy, and grey here. Hopefully the sun will be poking through soon! Tomorrow…. The dentist. /shudder!
