Butterfly Kisses

Butterfly Kisses *** This painting pretty much created itself. I took the girl from a sketch I did when I was visiting my parents and put her in the middle of the birch wood. She’s woodburned on and painted and collaged around. I used stamped butterfly’s and some butterfly sequins with I layered over with crinkled blue tissue paper. Bubble wrap and soda caps were used to stamp texture onto the background. There are napkin “leaves” scattered about, as well as used for the collar of her dress. The collar is topped with Fashion Beadz ~ Self-Adhesive Beads for Fabric. I used a plethora of mediums for this piece including, acrylic paints, watercolor and prismacolor pencils, pastel chalks, label maker with super spiffy colored labels! =) Gorgeous paper I bought on my venture to my parents. Sweet little flower bling! All girls need hair accessories. I’m very happy with how this painting turned out. She makes me smile every time I glance her way. Today I’m working on a little fairy bug in purples, pinks, and blues. I’d say she’s half-way done. I’m also recycling a journal by rejournaling over sketches and doodles I did about 8 years ago. I’ll post as I go. AND! My very first Moleskine journal arrived via USP yesterday! I’m excited about working in it but don’t want to start until I’ve completed the recycled journal. Looks like I’m good for art journals for a while. =) That leaves room for more art supplies! (Like I need any!) Have a happy hump day and leave a comment and let me know what you’re up to! =) Thanks for dropping in.
