Little Annie Oakleaf

I got the idea for this punny painting while spending time painting other fall focused pieces. I was so excited to get this burned onto the wood. Little Annie Oakleaf just seemed perfect to do to welcome the autumn season in.
I had SO much fun collecting my supplies for this painting. I dug through my stencils and stamps and stickers and all my fancy bling that I use on my paintings. Four of the oak leaves are real. My mom pressed them for me for another project that got sidetracked. I’m so happy that I still had them. There are layers of paints, stencils, gel pens, chalks, gooey thick acrylic paint was used for the small gold leaves. The rifle is made using texture paste and painted over. There is a sheen of bronze on the wood that doesn’t show up too well here. I also used gobs of Orange Peel Stickles that I smeared on with my fingers. It’s very shimmery and sparlkes happily in the light. While I was painting this I had 3 other paintings I was working on as well, all of which are smaller pieces that I will post as the week goes by. Come back tomorrow to see what else is fresh off the easel! =)
