Gold and Lace

Something a bit different. I did this with collage paper squares in orange colors, the surface I used was wood with a white coating that I lightly sanded. The squares started to peel off so I used the white part of a decorative napkin that I peeled away from the printed layer of the napkin. It worked perfectly and added an awesome wrinkly texture as well. I toned down the orange of the paper with a semi light coat of white paint before topping it off with the back of the napkin. I used portions that I carefully ripped from the decorative part of the napkin as the flowers. I also used stencils and stamps to add to this piece. I used a lot of gold leafing to dress her up and used paper lace on her dress. I love how you can see through the girl to the background. THis turned out far better than I had hoped. I’m happy with her. She’s got holes drilled in the top and golden fun fur is laced through them to hang her with. I entered a drawing today and just had to share it here as this gals a total artistic rock star! Check her out and enter her drawing if you please! =) Lani Kent of Healing Expressions Lani, thanks for hosting your drawing and God Bless you!
