Updates on House Hunting

And finding a new one is a blessing!

What an adventure. Day one was a bust, we got to view two of the five that we’d picked out. Two of them had already sold or had earnest money on them so they were off limits The first house we viewed was the one on Durell Road with the ever so interesting root cellar. There was actually piece of plywood on the floor and you lift it up and there are stairs leading down into a root cellar. Interesting to say the least and not the idea place for a studio. The townhouse key wasn’t working so the listing agent had to come down from Seattle to fix it so that we could get in.

Sunday around 2:00 PM we headed out again and were finally able to get into the townhouse. It’s got 3 completed floors 1.5 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms and LOTS of space, plus it come with all appliances including trash compactor and washer and dryer which would save a lot of money on move in. Each level has a balcony and the bottom level has a patio with sliders and a view of the edge of the lake. The lake is a small lake more of an oversized pond but great for canoing or kayaking. It’s got a gorgeous view though and maybe we’ll take up rowing! =)

So this is the one we are in love with right now and I’m spending today doing my homework and waiting for my Realtor to get back from an appointment so I can talk to her about it.

Until later… I’m off to attempt something creative! =)

House Hunting

So the process begins. For the life of me this morning I could not find the link to this house above, but thankfully my hubs picked up this flyer at the home when we did a drive by. I love the square footage, the close in neighborhood, and the greenhouse. I can see from the picture that I’ll need to be taking some wallpaper down but what fun it is to just move in and not make your own house “yours.” It’s got a wonderful yard and lots of outdoor space. I’m really looking forward to seeing this and all the others I’m listing. Tomorrow is the big day! Our first ever house hunt!

Here are the other places we’ll be taking a peek at. I’ll be bringing my camera as to capture what’s NOT shown in the pictures from the Realtor online.

  • This is my personal absolute favorite. I love the fact that is has a finished walk-in basement, I love the location in town, and I love how clean it is.
  • This charming home looks to have a lot of potential inside and out. This picture was obviously taken in the winter so you can’t see how great the foliage is but I’m sure this spring it will start to pop! I love the porches, the outbuilding, and again with the “partially” finished basement. I love cold places!
  • The kitchen in the house speaks for itself. I love the large living area, the 3 bedrooms and the garage… I’m excited about seeing the “root” cellar too, to see if it will work as a studio for me.
  • This townhouse deserves a viewing simply for it’s location, view of the lake and it’s large size. Along with the fact that it has a basement and a garage the price is great.
My art has taken a backseat to house hunting. I get daily emails from local Realtors with the newest listings so I preview them several times to get a feel for the property. I’m in contact with our Real Estate Broker, and our Loan Officer, and I’m sharing information with the hubs and my mom to keep everyone in the loop. It’s a fun and stressful process but it’s keeping me busy. I can’t wait to get back to my art and I have some new things I haven’t yet posted to share with you. I will be doing that this coming week. AND… I’ll be sharing tidbits about the houses we’ll be looking at tomorrow. So until then… wish us the best of luck! God Bless you ALL!

And so it goes…

This is what happens when you rent from the wrong Landlord Overlord. We did as he asked and are now in the process of looking for a home so he can’t toss an IED out of his demented brain into our lives again. Details coming soon along with lots of art. I’ll see you tomorrow! I’m still recovering from the attack of stress! ( just as my hubs! )
