♥ Love ♥
This is my fifth in the Autumn Owl series of ACEOs that I’ll be listing on Etsy tomorrow. Next I think I’ll play with a larger owl painting that’s been brewing in my head. I’m also finishing up this….

The painting under the owl is coming along nicely. It’s now pinks, reds and black… and white. I have more to do on it today but also need to hit the grocery today so I have limited time today. I’m also working on a series of small paintings that I plan to make prints for for Christmas postcards and such. Something to celebrate the upcoming holidays. I “should” have done this in July but it seems I’m always behind schedule.
My desk is a Hazmat zone right now so I have to run and suit up so I can get it cleaned up before heading out for my weekly shopping trip.
See you back here tomorrow for more mayhem and madness!
I couldn’t resist! I always think of Halloween when the smell of autumn tickles my nose. It’s a definite change. You can feel in on your skin, smell it in the air and feel it in your heart. It a warm feeling amidst the new chill that hits the air… and I LOVE it. It makes me think of the safety of home. Warm cocoa, nights in pajamas watching TV, family, dessert after dinner, the warm feeling that I’m safe. It very could be the way I grew up…nevertheless, this is how I feel at the first rush of autumn air.
This ATC is done layers a small corner of decorative napkin and building on top of it with the painted owl and embellishments. Admitidly I likely spent way to much time on this ATC but it was really a fun and involved process… and the results are well worth it. I’ll be posting this little treasure on Etsy on Friday when I post a few more I’ve completed.
Since we’re on the subject of birds… I can’t help but give you a shot from my backyard window at the bird feeder. It’s been packed lately 4 deep each time I take a gander! (birds… goose… gander… see what I did there!?)
This is as about as focused as I can get using partial zoom with my little portable pocket cam.

This is what I’m talking bout! NOM NOM!
Whispering Wednesday - Yay!
- I harvested my very first homegrown potatoes yesterday
- I’m cooking them tonight with sausages
- I’ve taken an interest in houseplants again and will share my mini indoor garden soon.
- I’ve picked out my birthday present… tune it Friday for a look-see.

I know… ATCs right! They are more than just an addiction. They can become a way of life. What I really love about them is their versatility. You can can do ANYTHING on them. This is a little painted doodle that I thought would be fun to send summer off with a smile. It holds promise for next years green shoots on the trees and opens the door for autumn to make a grand entrance… also.. since this was done yesterday it celebrated our massive wind storm. The last traces of summer truly did get blown away yesterday.
Now we open the door for fall. Tomorrow you’ll see one of the things that I think of when fall begins to approach, but for today… yep, it’s 2sday again and I have a brand new toy from my parents. It’s a bit of humorous eye candy to make you smile.
♥ Tuesday’s Toys ♥

What a gardenista right! …Eggactly!

Number two in my fall series of owl ACEOs. I layered a bit with decorative napkins that I’ve been buying and storing regularly. The majority of the circles are from the napkin and the rest are from rubber-stamping a circle with acrylic paints. I did a faint purple wash for the background and sponged the edges with black ink. I added a couple of layers of sparkle glaze to the larger circles to add some depth and texture to the card.
He’s just a fun guy hanging out waiting for nightfall so he can head off hunting. Owls can be an intriguing bird if you get the opportunity to see them. My great grandpa had a barn owl in his old barn. He ran a dairy farm for years and my grandpa (his son) delivered the milk in glass bottles to doorsteps all over the county. Oh for the days of such wonderful customer service. If my grandpa hadn’t been delivering milk he never would have met my grandma and I wouldn’t be here. So I’ll Owl-ways be thankful for that dairy farm.

Psalm 9
I have another installment in my Psalm Sunday series ready today. I missed a few weeks, one due to 9/11 and one due to my down in the funk time. I’m happy to say I’m working ahead on my Psalms so I should be able to keep ahead of myself. Nothing like playing all week on ATC and paintings, commissions and whatnot and have Sunday morning sneak up on you with no TP treasure Psalm ready!
Here’s the ninth Psalm in it’s entirety. “Owl” be back tomorrow to share some of the ATCs from my Fall series with you!
Until then… God Bless You!
Just a fun ATC to share with you. I dug out a package of blank ATC cards to inspire me towards bigger and better things and came up with this little owl. I’m adoring the colors and composition of this ATC. Blue/Turquoise and Orange are such a magical combination I truly need to find a flower that has both of these stunning colors for my spring-time garden!
I opted for no sparkles for this ATC other than a few flower centers and the whites of the eyes that for some some reason didn’t show up here.
Be sure to turn in tomorrow for another awkward owl that just wants to strut his stuff!

This set called “Seasons” was quite a fun little project. Each painting is measures only 3×3″ so they are perfect for grouping in a small space or propping on shelves and even for easel display.
They can also be displayed separately, the green in the spring and the red in the fall. Use your imagination. I’ll have them posted on Etsy next week after I take some time to write up the descriptions for works I need to post.

We went to our first Home Owners Association meeting last night. Over two hours of discussing everything from parking to trees and a few odd subjects inbetween. I ended up signing up for the “special projects” committee. I’ll be helping out with a project that my next door neighbor has in mind to help out the neighborhood. I’m looking forward to see how it progresses. I’ll keep ya posted!
Until tomorrow… I’m tired today =) and I still have plenty to do! Peace ~~~ Out!
Here’s today’s progress with my Love Shack painting. I got pretty far today considering that I was feeling rather sluggish. I need to adjust my meds me thinks. I’ll work on that tonight. I have a lot of delicious layers here. I started with a strip of cheerful wrapping paper near the bottom 1/3 of the painting. I also tore two hearts from the same paper and mod podged them to the top right. Then the second layer… crumpled up tissue paper. This not only helps tone down the glaringly obvious gloss look of the wrapping paper but it helps to mute the colors and gives it more of a background effect. Easy Peasy! You must try. =) Then the house. I traced the canvas size into my sketch book then did a bit of “layout” work to adjust the size and placement of the house. I liked the house so much I used tracing paper and cut it out and then traced over my cutout onto the collage paper. I picked a muted yellow so I could bring up the colors as desired. I also stamped the flowers and leaf images onto the house.
The roof is also collage paper cut into a fun design and sponged on the edges with black waterproof rubber stamping ink. The trick part is gluing it back together to look right. (I did this by gluing it to the tracing paper before gluing onto the canvas. Wa-la!)
The flowers are from a paperback novel that I glued, painting with gesso, then added the colors. I used an eraser tip to stamp the black dot in the centers and then used a painting tool to add the yellow middles.
Here’s a few close ups of several corners of the painting… It’s not done yet I want to add some more hearts and a few more things but it’s much closer to where I want it to be. I’ll sleep on it and I’m sure the rest will come to later.

It’s Whispering Wednesday … so shhh! If you listen very closely you’ll hear something!
- I’ve been collecting acorns that have been falling from the tree in the front yard… I have no idea why!
- I’m reading about Himmler at the moment … talk about a spooky dude!
- My hubs bought me the game Sims Medieval… fun stuff. Very interesting game. Check it out…

This is what I’m playing with today. It’s called…”Love Shack.” I have a few fun ideas that will go into finishing this canvas panel which I’ll have done by the end of the week. I’m also working on a few paintings that got set aside before the move. It’s fun looking at them from a different location as my creativity has grown a lot since moving.
Here’s today 2sday’s toy!

Key-chain bling! I love stuff like this. Useless eye candy really… until it makes it’s way into a journal or a painting that is! Until then it’s fun to have a little toy to finger when I get fidgety! And speaking of candy… well food anyway. Last night I made cabbage rolls for dinner before they hit the plate I snagged a photo to share with you. Nom!

Tonights menu: Baked Sweet Potatoes and Pan Seared Parm Chicken! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it… Time to prep some food! See you tomorrow =) Peace ~~ Out!

I haven’t forgotten about you! I know I haven’t posted in a quite a while… especially for me but I’ve been up to my neck in this-n-that.
I’ve finished the commission that I’ve been working on and I’ve also been doing quite a few other things that I’ve been needing to get done… not to mention working around the house and yard. I was also hit with a touch to much of depression so I haven’t had positive things to say and didn’t want to share doom and gloom with you. No one likes to hear complainers aye!?

Here’s a beautiful mess on my desk I’m playing with today. I’m working on Psalms and will have Psalm 9 ready for Sunday of this week. I also started a new canvas painting that I’ll show you tomorrow.
I spent some time reading recipes to find something creative for dinner guests that canceled but I made the recipe anyway…. as you can see from the plate, someone…. went back for seconds!
Cupcake Lasagna!

… and they were really, really good!
