♥ St. Patty ♥
I finally managed to get a tiny bit of artwork done. This larger-than-life ATC was created with St. Patrick’s Day in mind. I’m hoping to get the other painting I started done this week as well. I feel as though I’m coming down with a cold, my head is throbbing and I’m coughing and sneezing off and on today. I think some nice hot tea with lots of honey is in order. I can curl up in a blanket at my desk and paint.
I’ve also been having some issues with the back of my knee that hasn’t improved so I’m thinking I might have to see my doctor about it. Bleh! I’m so tired of Dr’s. from last year’s ankle fiasco! I did take to bringing my sketch book with me though so my time in the waiting rooms was spent doing something I enjoy.
The bank now has two weeks to get back to us. We asked them for a response within 30 days, but it feels more like 300. I spent part of the weekend making another list of homes to view in case this doesn’t go through. There are so many properties for sale and so many foreclosures and short sales… it’s rather sad. I’ll be emailing our real estate agent with the list to ask for an appointment. (I hope this cold goes away fast… I don’t want a migraine while house hunting!)
Today’s creative kitchen includes potato pancakes on the menu. I’ll let you know how they turn out tomorrow. I’m off to make tea now and bundle in a blankie!

♥ Art Supplies in the Pink ♥
I finally got around to taking a quick snapshot of the pink bins in my white cabinet. I think they turned out precious and I’m excited about putting my studio together. We are in a waiting game with the bank right now but I did hear this morning that the file for our offer is in the hands of the negotiator so it’s further along than we had thought. Prayers please! We have a price limit and don’t want them to come back too high on this home. We are both at peace about moving out of our ‘comfort zone’ and discovering the opposite side of our ever-growing Capitol city.
My art time has been limited lately as my focus has been on sorting through drawers and cupboards, cabinets, and boxes. It’s amazing how “junk” piles up around us and we don’t even see it until we really focus. There is so much stuff we can get rid of and won’t have to move that it’s a joy to donate as much as possible!
The green beans from Monday night were a big hit and so was last night’s homemade chili with cornbread. Tonight it’s a mustard/vinegar marinated beef that will be served Beef Stroganoff style with a baked potato instead of noodles. Since I have to cook anyway I’ve moved my artistic skills to the kitchen to be able to “create” since my painting is coming along ever so slowly right now. I am still working on the two pieces I showed you here. It’s been a whole week and I’m ‘almost’ done with the ATC… that’s how slow things are at the art table this past week. (Sad Face!)
It’s time again for Whispering Wednesday so here’s a few random things from me to you.
- I’ve been following the Charlie Sheen “train wreck”
- I have a small but growing collection of small crosses and rosary’s
- I fell out of the car when I was five years old (I only got a few scrapes and bruises… and lots of candy)
- I remember what I was wearing when I fell out of the car
- I’m secretly planning a garden for the back yard in my head

♥ Tweedles ♥More messing around with ATCs while I wait for my new vision to arrive at the Dr’s Office. I’ll be sure to take a picture of my new specs when I get them. It’s weird to look at an ATC in such a large size. This picture is actually 4 times larger than the actual card. I’ve been playing with the theme of Alice in Wonderland and this one got a little wacky and fun. We all giggled at it here. Tomorrow will be the Queen of Hearts, I was going to post her today buy my eyes got all buggy. So we went grocery shopping instead. (And I managed to pick up a few paints and a package of ATCs to continue my Alice theme. Since tomorrow’s going to be hotter than today and it’s hot enough for air conditioning at the moment getting errands done prior to any heat-wave is always a plus for me. I’ve been buying
P.F. Chang’s on grocery shopping day and whipping it up for dinner with a cup of instant rice neatly placed on the using a measuring cup to scoop it out and make it look fancy on the side. It’s a SUPER easy way to make a fast and stress-less dinner after having shopped and put away all the food. Zero stress factor food at a decent price. AND.. it really does taste awesome. That’s it for now. I DID buy some new stronger readers so I’ll be testing them out to see if I can actually do some art. But for now, It’s time to rest my ankle. See you soon…. And please, share your your super easy fast and yummy dinner ideas with me! Anything that keeps me painting longer and cooking less right now is extremely welcome! Hee!
