Egg-spress Yourself

Eggs

They look like eyes. they both cracked the same way into the pan. I immediately saw a face and had to snap a picture for my Accidental Art collection.

I took some pictures of myself last week and the pictures really didn’t look like me…so I took some more at different angles… and still, it’s really not me and I was unable to put my finger on what’s different/wrong. After really studying what the differences were… I figured it out. Whatever has me sick is causing one side of my face to ‘swell’ –it’s quite subtle but it’s very obvious around the eye area as it make me eye look like it’s bulging a bit, much like the left egg in this photo.

I see the rheumatologist next week… so hopefully we’ll find out eggactly what’s wrong with me.

Puzzling…

puzzle1

I’ve always loved putting puzzles together and when I saw this one in Costco a few weeks back I knew I had a pastime that would be relaxing enough to take my mind off doctor visits. These cupcakes are enough eye candy that I didn’t even crave sweets…. other than some coffee with Sweet Italian Cream coffee creamer. /NOM!

It took a while to put this 1000 piece puzzle together which is what I was looking for. I had so much fun with it that I just picked up another from my grocery store this week…

How quaint is this village?

Tomorrow I have some accidental art to share with you… A happy accident that happened while making breakfast this morning. It’s rather egg-citing so check back soon!

BeautiesOfBangelore

If you love bling you’re got to love today’s entry in my BCA Month series. Red, gold, black, and bling! LOVE it. I used everything I could get my hands on. The card itself is covered in a gold foil candy wrapper. You can get packs of them in the baking/candy isle in craft and variety stores. (They come in lots of colors as well!)

The body is cut from the inside of a Yogi Tea box. It looks just like the Henna tattoos that the women of India are famous for. Truly beautiful and artful. I would love to try that form of art.

Next I dug through my boxes of embellishments and found all these delish goodies. Enjoy the shimmers and I’ll see you tomorrow from something from the opposite side of the creative box.

Jenga Vampires

JengaCans

This is my son’s version of grocery day Jenga. I had to grab my camera and snap a picture because I thought it was a hilarious way to make fun and games out of unpacking the grocery bags. It’s towering infoodhno. Yeah… you don’t have to tell me how bad that play on words was. I can hear the groans from here. Winking smile

Moving right along… lets get back to BCA Month. Today is quite fun. Inspired by the twilight movies I made this…

Twilight

This one is simple yet stunning. I used a white illustration board ATC and dripped red acrylic paint from the top. Then I cut the body from black glitter paper and dripped more red paint. After adhering the body to the background I used black jute and strung the vampire teeth beads glued them in place and they are ready to take a bite out of breast cancer!

Pumpkin Blossoms

PumpkinBlossoms

The colors of this ATC are so fun! I just love the fall flowers and the gorgeous greens. The flowers are made from twisted and wrapped crepe paper… with black wire curled and poked in. They were inspired by the recipe I promised for today…

Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer

  • 1 can sweetened condensed canned milk
  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk
  • 3 TBS canned pumpkin
  • 1/4 Tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 Tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 Tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 Tsp ground cloves
  • 1 Tsp vanilla extract

Put all the ingredients in a blender with the lid on and give it a good whirl. Pour into coffee and drink! YUM. I stored mine in the fridge in a jar. For richer creamer you can use regular milk. I wanted something I didn’t feel horribly guilty about. /wink!

Pink Ribbons

PinkRibbons

I thought this would be fun. After all, who doesn’t love PINK? I really. Using several shades of pink, some ribbon, rhinestones, papers, and glitters I made this Breast Cancer Awareness Month card to mark Day 11. I enjoyed the spattering process so much on this mini project that I got pink paint all over my glasses. I was seeing spots all day before it dawned on me.

Tomorrow’s Friday! Yay! Shopping day and time to pick up the ingredients for making homemade Pumpkin Spiced Creamer for some lattes. NOM! I can almost taste it now. I love pumpkin… in cheesecake, in soups, pie, and yes… in coffee. The creamer is truly awesome in hot cocoa too! Speaking of coffee… It’s time to run downstairs and make a fresh pot! See you tomorrow for Day 12.

Butterfly Breeze

I’m continuing to work on my garden series and completed Butterfly Breeze yesterday afternoon. I’m super happy with it and stretched my limits a bit on this one. I smudged more and added some texture to my flowers. I truly enjoyed the process of this painting. I included more moss from my yard to finish off the garden look of this piece.

The butterflies are done with modeling paste and smudge painted with several shades of pink, topped with glitter glaze and outlined and smudged with black charcoal. I used a black seed bead to set twisted wire for the antenna. The texture on the flowers is done with Scribbles 3D fabric paints.

Drop me a comment and let me know if you carrot all for for this painting. =)

While I Wait…

While I wait for the charms that I ordered from Etsy to arrive for my Picket Fence piece I’m playing with Martha’s crackle medium. I’m dressing up a wooden block I have with pots and plants as a small accent piece. Recycling junk and old art supplies and adding a twist. It’s really quite fun to finally use up stuff I’ve had in my craft drawers for …well… years!  It also helps me experiment and try new techniques. Two birds w/one stone so to speak.

My mom gave me this mosaic glass and tinkered around a bit with it today and I’m about ready to start a project with it. I’m not really to start throwing plates in the kitchen around yet but this blue is really yummy…and the green is going to go great in my living room. I’ll keep you posted … until tomorrow. I’m off to make a dill/yogurt sauce for tonight fish dinner… NOM NOM!

Sunday Morning

Monday Noon

Can you believe how fast this tree is bursting forth? It’s like watching a miracle in action. I just love looking out the landing window at it. It holds such promise!

I planted my flowers today and I’ll be taking some photos of my newly done garden soon. We barked the flower beds and they look so much spiffier. Now I’m doing the fun part and planting pretties.

I took a break from the sun to come in and spend some time in my studio. I’m working on some tiles and got an idea to tea stain one… I want to make on shabby chic and while drinking a cup of tea the other day I shared some of my tea with some text pages to see how tea staining would look on my Spam cans. I was delighted with the results so today I cut a tea bag open and dumped it onto this tile and then sprayed it with some water… Now I wait while my art steeps!
