FUN!

If you come here on a regular basis you may recognize these paintings. However… they have each had some of Alice’s Drink Me Potion! These are tiny. They are 1¼ squares. I’ve been playing with my printer and making teeny art. Now I have to decide if I’m going to make them pins or magnets. I’m leaning toward pins. What do you think?  Sadly while I was printing some other things today I got a pop up from my printer telling me that it appears to have a drinking problem… and wouldn’t you know it. It’s “poison” of choice is the most expensive liquid on the planet. Yes, it’s getting close to time to order printer ink. Sigh. Now I have my printer asking for a Christmas present. Sorry bubba, you’ll have to wait till after the new year. I’ve got “real” people to give to first!

I have been honored by being mentioned on someone else’s blog. Please check out Four Days a Week and today’s Monday Musings.

It’s a delight when you make connections with other bloggers online and you link each other. It’s a great way to share new things with others and it’s wonderful making online connections and friends. It’s also a great way to grow your online network and help someone else grow theirs.

My desk is a disaster area today. I’ve been cutting and trimming and pasting and varnishing! It’s now time to go and clean the mess up so I have a clean area to destroy again! Stop by again tomorrow for Tuesday’s Toys and maybe a doodle or two. I have a few paintings sitting hear waiting for attention but I think they are at the bottom of Mess Mountain! Time to pull on my hiking boots and hit the pile!

Neck Art!

Monkeying Around

These are the pendants I mentioned earlier this week. I think they are scrumptious. They will be going up on Etsy tomorrow. I put my key chains up today. I can make ANY of my 4×4 mini paintings into a necklace now. I’m building my gallery by scanning my paintings and fiddling with them in Photoshop. It’s going to take a while to get them all scanned however as I made a ton of minis this year. I’m pretty pleased to have gotten as much done this week as I have since this cold has really put me in a mind fog. The best thing for me to do was try to forget how sick I was feeling and play, play, play.
The Gorilla Glue worked out well for these pendants. It takes very, very, very little to make them stick. It turns white when it’s done so you need to be very careful about overflow… what little overflow I had got painted black so it was super easy clean up and guaranteed to hold tight!
Another week has come and gone and time is flying by faster than a tornado! No stress, it’s only the most important season of the year! I’m still toying with ideas in my head about what I’m going to be doing for my nieces. I “think” I settled on something today. I’ll sleep on this idea and if something else doesn’t come to mind I’ll start execution next week! I can’t share as I know at least ONE of my nieces drops by here occasionally and when would a better time to drop in to see whats going on? Yeah! Right around Christmas. Nice try!

Have a fantastic weekend…enjoy the calm before the storm as Christmas is approaching rapidly! Over and out till later. =) And… Thank God for Nyquil!

Faith

I thought I lost this while making these crosses a few weeks back. I was digging through some of the draws I keep my plethora of bling in and it popped out at me! I was delighted to find it. I have a way of “misplacing” and/or losing things all the time… and I look high and low and usually they are right in front of me. I’ve been searching the house like crazy lately looking for one of my art sketchbooks. I did a rough sketch that I wanted to turn into a painting and it’s in the missing sketchbook. I’ve prayed about it so now it’s out of my hands. Now I’m just waiting on God to tell me where I put it. It’s amazing that you can lose something in such a small living space.

In keeping with the red theme I wanted to share this photo I took of our neighbor’s tree. It was a tad blurry so I used Photoshop to add an artistic touch to it. I used Filter/Artistic/Sponge to get the effect and I think it looks very cool. I look forward to fall each year as I know which foliage to watch for. Every year is a wonderful blast of golds, oranges, and reds, and this tree never disappoints. God’s angels must be truly busy in the fall with their paint brushes all over the trees! Kudos angels… your work is stunning!

Sticker Books!

 ♥ Sticker Books! ♥

This was an awesome opportunity. Get your Moo on! They have everything from business cards to stickers, and oh, so much more!  I decided to make 90 stickers out of nine of my favorite paintings. DO you have any idea how hard that was?  I normally fall in love with each and every one of my creations… which makes it increasingly harder each time I create. It’s truly impossible to pick a favorite. The fun is to override the “insanity” of loving each creation!

These wonderful stickers will be showing up in my jewelry, greeting cards, and postal messages. I promise to alert you to them as they come about. Just remember to smile!

Faith, Hope, Love

Just a few more cross necklaces that I’ve added to my Etsy shop. I spent some time over the weekend preparing this wearable art for sale. I never know what I’m going to create when I start these gift-ables… but I’m always happy with what they turn into. These were especially fun as it’s been  a year since I’ve had the opportunity and the materials to create more of these necklaces. I have even more cross pendents stowed away after a shopping trip… so if you have a color request or want something “just so” let me know. I love a bit of a challenge!

Until tomorrow… God Bless You!

Spring Super Sale

Ξ March 19th, 2010 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Art-tastic, Jewelry |

Spring Super Sale! Just in time for Easter. I’ve marked down ALL my jewelry in my Etsy Shop! Click on by and check out the new low prices. I’m busy, busy, busy with the creative process. Today I’m working on a “King” piece I’ll be using to photograph and make invitations with for my Dad’s upcoming birthday. Shh… It’s a surprise. =) I’m really enjoying the process! I’m using lots of purples, greens, and blues and am excited about turning the art into postcards. I also have several other odds and ends on my desk that are poking at me for attention but they will just have to wait! As always there are just not enough hours in the day to get as much art done as I’d like. Thankfully the weekend is here at last and I’ll have more time for play! Then come Wednesday I’ll have the moment of truth with my Orthopedist! If he gives me the go ahead to walk and lets me know how long I’ll be wearing my “boot” I just might “pimp” my boot with some funky fringe! Why not?! =) We’ve gotta make life fun after all! Be sure to share what you’re working on and I’ll head on over and check you out. Happy TGIF!

Faith comes in many forms

Ξ December 4th, 2009 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Art-tastic, Etsy, For The Kingdom, Jewelry |

Faith comes in many forms… and some it is wearable. While on a supply shopping spree I found these awesome wooden crosses and knew I could transform them into something unique. These one of kind wearable wonders are approximately 1 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches and stung on hemp cord. For the ease of wearing I tied them off with a knot so you can simply slip them over your head and not worry about fussing with a clasp. I added individuality to each one with different items from beads to glitters. I found some Fiskars Zingz at Big Lots that I thought would be fantastic fun to play with so I used them on the blue cross.  It’s fun digging into a project like this, I always start off by cleaning my desk and ending up with a huge pile of supplies smothering my desk. It’s also fun to try new projects and new mediums to stretch your imagination muscles!

Check these out on my Etsy.

Mixed Media Jewelry

Ξ October 17th, 2009 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Art-tastic, Jewelry, The Healing Garden |

I’m always willing to try new things and find it therapeutic to put together small works of wonder. These are wooden squares I bought at a craft shop. I painted and covered them with tissues, napkins, papers, and such as a base to start with. I added painted chip board hearts and flowers to some and resin hearts and flowers to others. I incorporated Beadz and Fun Fur and some feathers as well. Rhinestones were a must to add that extra bling we all like on our funky jewelry. The possibilities for these pins are endless with all the creative items on the market today. I’ll be buying more wooden mini squares soon to make even more of these wearable art treasures. Which one is your fave?

Supply Shopping

Ξ September 4th, 2009 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Art-tastic, Jewelry, Supplies/Techniques |

Here’s a snapshot of some of the goodies I picked up on my shopping trip while visiting with my parents. I got oodles of stickers and jewelry supplies along with some paints, and stencils, and other yummy goodies. The frames in the lower right side of the photo are for making some jewelry with my art. Some of the other goodies I got are ladybug beads, rub-ons, jump rings, paper doilies, and stretchy beading cord. I’m working on a painting today and plan to use some of the goodies from this photo along with some gorgeous sea blue napkins my niece bought for me on our adventure downtown during her last visit. Lots of creativity will be happening with these goodies. I’ll be sure to keep you posted! =) Happy Friday and have a super duper weekend.
