Although still a work in progress I’m definitely liking the direction this is taking. I ordered some garden theme charms from Etsy to hang from the clothes line… I’ll likely dye them with alcohol inks… or sponge them with nail polish… I gave up painting my nails long ago so I’d have yet another medium for my art. My nails are usually done up with glue and speckles of spattered paints. They just scream…”artist!” YAY!
It’s an absolutely gorgeous day out today and I plan to take advantage of what little photography skills I have to capture my back yard. I’ll share my photo montage with you soon. Until later… Have an outstanding Saturday and get some relaxation in.

I finally got my hands on some moss. I had some all along and just didn’t realize it. It was growing on the bricks in the backyard… I started a moss garden on aluminum foil covered paper plates and watered/misted it diligently on a daily basis… Then I had a serious allergy attack and spent three days in a row napping the headaches away. My moss went the way of the dinosaur so now I’m harvesting it for my art.

I started this painting a while back and knew I needed moss… but yesterday I decided to add the twigs with paper flowers into the pots. I’m loving it! It’s going to go great with the rest of the garden series I’m doing. I’m having a great time with these. They are turning out yummy!
Here’s a look at the mess I want to clean up before I head out shopping… Yikes!

Happy Friday fellow artistic peeps… Drop me a comment and share what you’re working on! /HUGS!

Painting in progress on my desk… A beautiful mess of paints and papers litter my space.

In the pink… bins filled to the brim with supplies books begging to be read again and again.

An array screaming to be organized and cleaned up… Often ignored when I have a work in progress.

Coffee, a computer game of solitaire and another mess to clean up!

Ugh! From towels and blankets to electronics needing dusted… at the end of the week I’ll post photo’s of a clean studio!
Thought I’d share my messy room today.

At the eye doctor’s last week the parking lot was covered with a gorgeous pink carpet of cherry blossoms. I LOVE this time of year. We’ve done some of our gardening and here’s the results of our labor so far…

Just a few shots taken from inside. It’s been crazy raining here since we’ve finished this project so we’ve not been able to get back out and work on it. I hope to plant some more along the southwest side of the fence and to get a tree planted as well… along with some bushes. I’ve still got plenty of time! Hopefully we’ll have a long growing season.
I’ll share more when the weather permits.

Sunday Morning

Monday Noon
Can you believe how fast this tree is bursting forth? It’s like watching a miracle in action. I just love looking out the landing window at it. It holds such promise!
I planted my flowers today and I’ll be taking some photos of my newly done garden soon. We barked the flower beds and they look so much spiffier. Now I’m doing the fun part and planting pretties.
I took a break from the sun to come in and spend some time in my studio. I’m working on some tiles and got an idea to tea stain one… I want to make on shabby chic and while drinking a cup of tea the other day I shared some of my tea with some text pages to see how tea staining would look on my Spam cans. I was delighted with the results so today I cut a tea bag open and dumped it onto this tile and then sprayed it with some water… Now I wait while my art steeps!

Before

And now…
I’ve been busy as you can see. Here’s the before and after of the living room with our new sofa and the painted wall along with my finished art. We’ve living hear for about 11 months now and we are finally getting around to getting the things we want done rather than the things we need. We also hung our TV and bought a new book case…

This is taken from the kitchen. I’m going to cover the books in the bookcase with matching covers and move things around a bit until I’m satisfied. I’ll put the seashells away once I get more garden related items to replace them with… at least for now. I’ll showcase a few of the newer decorating goodies I’m using as I go. I’m also going to put some shears on the windows soon too! I’m excited about that.

Here’s a bit of a closer look at the paintings I made… I love the blues and greens together. They are cooling and healing. I’m presently working on … this …

I have several ideas for this canvas… I’ll give you another peek at my progress tomorrow.
Tata for now… Time to pull some pork for dinner.

After a candlelit evening watching TV and chatting it up… here’s what left. The wax went wild and now I have a monkey’s face in my candle holder. I thought this was comical enough to share with you… art appears everywhere, you just need to be receptive to it and look for the unexpected.
My living room paintings are done and I’m going to hang them today but sadly my dad’s still in the hospital so I’m off to return some phone calls for my mom. After my calls are made I’ll hang my art, take some pictures and share them tomorrow.
Over and out for now.

Finally touches of gorgeous green are popping up everywhere! This is the maple tree as seen from the stairway landing. I’ve been watching these buds grow everyday and decided today was the day to share these gems with you.
I also have some other flowers popping up in a kitchen basket that I thought I should post.

Okay, so they are a little addictive to make. That’s the fun of it. I’m hitting the grocer today and you can bet I’ll have a package or two of wooden spoons in my cart to add to my funky family!
Today I’m working again on my paintings and I’m happy to report that I’m delighted with how they are turning out so far… I promise an update as soon as I can.
Back to getting my hands dirty! Happy TGIF!

I’m working on a pair of paintings to hang in the living room over our new couch… Which I will reveal once I have the paintings finished and hung. I’m making flower blossoms today to go on one of the paintings. I’m working on them both at the same time to keep with the cohesiveness of them both. Here’s the pretty yellow I’m using for part of the flowers.

And here’s the blossoms before I’ve added the black centers. … They will be growing in … this garden.

For some reason this undertaking is a bit overwhelming to me. Maybe because I’m used to working on smaller canvases… and maybe because they are going to be showcased in my house. Maybe both!
I’ll keep you posted as I go.
What favorite art do you have hanging in your home?

I had the best time coloring eggs this year. I hadn’t done it years and since moving into our new home everything seems new again. I love how vibrant the colors turned out… I also love how the deviled eggs tasted. I’ve been keeping the colored egg shells in baby food jars to use in my collaging and my paintings. The colors are so rich and gorgeous I just couldn’t bring myself to throw them away. They’ll be appear soon in another create debut.
Today is my eye appointment and I’m looking forward to less headaches with new lenses. I’ll be dilated today so I’ll be all blurry this afternoon.
After my eyes are taken care of I need to visit the dentist for a toothache that keeps getting worse. Time to take the big girl pill and man up. I’m deathly afraid of the dentist.
See you tomorrow when my eyes are back to normal!
